Mugi Hokka Roasted Barley Shochu 25% ABV (Kagoshima)

Nose: Mmmm, that roasted barley really comes through, hippy cheerios, providing a savory umami sauteed mushroom note. Toasted peanuts. Moist clay, some type of glue / rubber element.

Palate: River water when camping with a hint of particles, peanut shells, milk chocolate, cacao nibs.

Rating: 3 (Shane) 5 (Ryan) / 10 – glad ryan likes it. I wish I was drinking something else. To be fair, it is complex, interesting and totally not to my gusto.
