Rating: 8 / 10 – this is a syrup bomb. Freaking glorious.
Nose: Peanut m&m chocolate coating, honey, wax, light citrus, musky, paint, plantains, vanilla pods, model glue, dried pineapple.
Palate: Subtle pineapple, wax, honey, packing tape, sea salt, mineral water, as it breathes the pete smoke starts to really surface
Rating: 6 / 10
Nose: Chocolate, maraschino cherries, prunes and dates, chestnuts and almonds, something vegetal or herbal, endive.
Palate: Slight bit of sulfur, strong wood, grapefruit peels, has a tannic dryness similar to a red wine cask, rich PX notes
Rating: 4 (Shane) 5 (Ryan) / 10 – Some wonderful PX notes, but the slight bit of sulfur combined with the more tannic and dry palate leave you wanting something a bit more.
Nose: Flat Dr. Pepper, dates, pistachio cookies, prunes, panettone
Palate: Leather, spicy, cough syrup on the “good” end of the spectrum–grenadine / luxardo cherry, a turkish twist to a british Christmas pudding with rose water, pistachios, dates and cardamom, walnut bitters, awesome drying leathery tannic finish. Espresso beans in dark chocolate, leaf tobacco and black licorice
Rating: 8 / 10 – this is a beautiful bruiser of a sherried pour. Oh GlenDronach how we have missed you in our lineup!
Nose: Plum butter, buttery: lemon cookies, shortbread with powdered sugar, unripe white peach
Palate: Lemon sour grass, elderflower syrup, clover, endives, grapefruit peel, sour mountain strawberries, cedar, a fun gin n tonic sour, with a fizz on the mouthfeel.
Rating: 7 / 10 – fruity and delightful. While I love sour, I worry others might find it too much. Tom Says all good and not to overthink it. He gave it a thumbs up. A little more body and this could be a solid 8. We both agree to let it run the summer and they try it again to see if it’s ready to bottle. This is nearly 20 years at time of sample in 2022. AHAHAHA it’s May 2026 and I am posting this note online and I haven’t bottled it yet. Hopefully this summer when I visit in person.
Nose: Spongecake with grand marnier sprinkled on, tangerine flan, sawdust, waxiness.
Palate: Wax paper, tangerine taffy, julie’s aunt’s orange rolls, white tea where you left the paper label in, orange flan
Rating: 8 (Shane) 9 (Ryan) / 10 – Be excellent to each other – Party on, dudes! So-crates – “The only true wisdom consists in knowing that you know nothing”. Ted: “That’s us, dude.”
Nose: Dr. pepper/mr. pibb, chocolate, umami, sweet, leather, almond, coffee cake, pomegranate.
Palate: Everything from the nose and so much more. No point in repeating the same words.
Rating: 9 / 10 – hits every part of the tongue. Complex and insane. If it weren’t for a fleeting deeply intense herbal note, this might be a 10. But that is a personal preference and not a flaw. I have gone out and acquired two bottles since taking this note.
Nose: Almond biscotti, sweet squash
Palate: Roasted sweet potatoes, marzipan, pimiento padron, salted gummies, anise, elderflower, coconut – an almond joy
Rating: 7 / 10 – there is a deep earthy sweetness paired with bitterness that makes for a fascinating pour.
Nose: Hops, honeydew melon, yellow peach, the light metallic note from cooking liver and onions, bong water.
Palate: Bright nectarines and tangerines, vanilla pudding, the fruit notes holds through the finish and keeps singing, tiny hints of violets, waxy and dusty to the max
Rating: 7 / 10 – what a finish… fruit forward!!!
Nose: Oatmeal creme pie from little debbies.
Palate: Biscoff, dark tea without any bitterness, marshmallows, oatmeal with brown sugar, chocolate dusting
Rating: 8 / 10 – Unlike all the prior fruits, this is just lovely brown sugar sweetness.
