Nose: Fresh cut branches, peach white tea, brown sugar and cinnamon, mustard seeds and coriander
Palate: Very quiet palate, lightly fruity, nuts, muted, butter, white tea, stevia
Rating: ? (Shane) 5 (Ryan) / 10 – not rating it – too quiet to form much of an opinion. A nice simple bourbon casked spirit. Ryan shrugged his shoulders and gave it a 5.
Nose: Milkweed, bit of a christmas vibe .. mistletoe and cinnamon candles, candied and stewed prunes. Violets and water lilly body spray, slight whiff of maple syrup
Palate: Anise, honey blossom, coffee liqueur, cabinet spices, bitter metallic finish, drinks a bit hot.
Rating: 5 / 10 – a bit more rounded than the 1968. I’m sad that the samples had neither ABV nor the region.
Nose: Mustard seeds, fresh sliced leeks, canned peaches, beeswax, orange blossom honey
Palate: Ubiquitous sweetness, cardboard / scotch tape, mineral oil, subtle hints of the fruit break through from the nose. Graham crackers and vanilla wafers. A nice mouthfeel for the abv, that fades into a lackluster finish.
Rating: 6 / 10 – Super solid and enjoyable example of bourbon cask aging. No frills, not much in the way of complexity, nothing fancy here, just an enjoyable drink.
